Continuum
March-May 2017
Exhibited at Imperial Festival 2017
Exhibited at V&A Friday Lates, August 2017
A cross-disciplinary project with Imperial College Advanced Hackspace. The piece was an interactive exhibition, as a physical metaphor showcasing the successive steps of innovation.

The plan for the piece was to produce a set of machines that transported ping pong balls, representing ideas, through the space.

I led the production of the second machine - 'Bounce' - where a large scale Archimedes Screw represented the need to cultivate your idea. This concept sketch was produced by another team member.

The initial prototype used a central PVC pipe, plywood fins and an outer cylinder to produce a lifting effect,

In production, we used a bike wheel as the steering mechanism and an outer cylinder of clear PETG.

After the Imperial Festival, Continuum was invited to exhibit at the V&A as part of its Monthly 'Friday Lates'.
